To be really honest, we all have to draw a line somewhere. And I think that line is about to be drawn for EverQuest.
Over at MMO Street they do sell everquest platinum but im not sure at for how long. It seems they only sell everquest 1 plat, and not everquest 2. That in itself is a bit weird, but perhaps even more player stick to the original than bothering with the sequel.

THE chart of what MMOG has the most players has been updated again. As we all know WoW is the biggest, but what about second, third etc.
Anyway, who cares. They’re only in it for the platinum anyway…
Version 20.0 is now available! This is a major update, with updated numbers for many games, most notably World of Warcraft, Eve Online, RuneScape, and most of NCSoft’s titles. I’ve also added three new MMOGs to the tracking data: Tibia, The Matrix Online, and Dungeons & Dragons Online.

This is what happends to your head if you keep farming to much of those plat in EQ. You end up crazy and make silly movies like this one. You might want to avoid this behaviour by buying those platinum instead.

After a year on the market,
rage3D.com has written a comparison and a review about EQ2 and WoW. In this article you can read about what the developers promised, which promises they kept and how the games have evolved during the year. The author spent 20days+ playing each game, and even tho this might not be such a long playtime compared to what an average player spends in an mmorpg, we think
this article is still giving a fair view of what these games offer.
